Understanding Common Idioms & Fixed Phrases Welcome to B1 Vocabulary! I am Teacher Sopheak. In my classes, I often tell my students that English is full of surprises. Sometimes, words do not mean exactly what they say. These are called idioms. Vocabulary List: Piece of cake (Idiom) - ងាយស្រួលណាស់ Under the weather (Idiom) - មិនសូវស្រួលខ្លួន Break a leg (Idiom) - ជូនពរឲ្យសំណាងល្អ Call it a day (Phrase) - សម្រាកពីការងារ Common Mistake: Literal Translation Idioms cannot be translated word-for-word! For example, "piece of cake" does not mean a real slice of cake; it means something is very easy.
