Advanced writers don't just use "said" or "told". They use reporting verbs to show the exact meaning and tone of the speaker!

អ្នកសរសេរកម្រិតខ្ពស់ មិនប្រើត្រឹមតែពាក្យ "said" ឬ "told" នោះទេ។ ពួកគេប្រើ Reporting Verbs ដើម្បីបង្ហាញពីអត្ថន័យ និងទឹកដមសំឡេងរបស់អ្នកនិយាយឲ្យបានច្បាស់លាស់។

"You should study." ➔ She advised him to study. នាងបានណែនាំឲ្យគាត់ខំរៀន។

These verbs are rule breakers!

("Suggest" មិនអាចប្រើជាមួយ to + verb ទេ។ ចំណែក "Accuse" ត្រូវតែមាន "of" នៅពីមុខ -ing ជានិច្ច!)

Hi Serey! Yes, many of them can also use "that" clauses (e.g., She suggested that we go). However, using the infinitive or gerund patterns (like "She suggested going") is often more concise and shows a more advanced command of grammar! 💡

A great trick is to group them by meaning! Verbs of ordering or directing (warn, advise, tell) usually need an object to receive the order (warn ME to...). Verbs of saying 'no' or avoiding (deny, avoid) often take -ing. Grouping them makes it much easier! 🧠
