Welcome to our lesson on English Articles! When English learners speak, they often skip the tiny words like 'a' or 'the' . In English, these little words are called Articles , and they are incredibly important! They tell the listener if we are talking about any general thing, or one very specific thing. Let's look at the rules for "A", "An", and "The". Vocabulary List: A Tuk-Tuk (General, consonant) - Use "A" before words that start with a consonant sound. A Guide (General, consonant) - Refers to any guide, not a specific one yet. An Elephant (General, vowel) - Use "An" before words that start with a vowel sound. An Umbrella (General, vowel) - Starts with a 'U' vowel sound. The River (Specific) - Use "The" when talking about a specific thing known to the listener.
