If a condition automatically triggers a guaranteed result, we use the Zero Conditional. If a condition leads to a possible future outcome, we use the First Conditional. warning Common Mistake
Never use the word "will" inside the conditional clause containing "if". Even when discussing the future, the clause starting with "if" must remain in the Present Simple tense.
