This lesson explores the concept of register —adjusting your diction based on the formality of the situation. We will cover advanced vocabulary such as ameliorate, candid, cordial, and discrepancy, and practice switching between boardroom formality and cafe casualness. Vocabulary List: Ameliorate (Formal Verb) - To make a bad or unsatisfactory situation better. Candid (Adjective) - Truthful and straightforward; frank. Cordial (Formal Adjective) - Warm and friendly, often in a formal or polite way. Discrepancy (Formal Noun) - A lack of compatibility or similarity between two or more facts.
