Advanced Punctuation Marks: Semicolon ( ; ) - Connects two closely related complete sentences without using words like "and" or "but". Colon ( : ) - Introduces a list, a quote, or a concluding explanation. Dash ( — ) - Adds strong emphasis or creates a sudden break in thought. Parentheses ( ) - Adds extra, background, or non-essential information quietly. Professional Tip: Do not capitalize the first word after a semicolon.
