Welcome to B1 Intermediate! In this lesson, we will cover collocations —words that naturally go together in English. A common mistake for English learners is translating verbs directly from their native language. This results in errors like saying "do a mistake" instead of "make a mistake". By learning these natural word pairings, you will immediately sound more fluent and professional. Vocabulary List: Make a mistake (Action) - To do something incorrectly. Do business (Action) - To engage in commerce. Take a photo (Action) - To use a camera to capture an image. Catch a bus (Action) - To get on a bus in time before it leaves. Common Mistake: Make vs. Do In many languages, we often use one word for both 'make' and 'do'. In English, you 'do' a task or job, but you 'make' a product or an error.
