Welcome! When my students talk about their daily routines—like waking up early or going to the market—they need the Present Simple tense. This tense is the foundation of English. We use it to talk about Habits (things we do regularly) and Facts (things that are always true). Let's learn how to build these sentences.
នៅពេលសិស្សរបស់ខ្ញុំនិយាយអំពីទម្លាប់ប្រចាំថ្ងៃរបស់ពួកគេ ពួកគេត្រូវការកាលបច្ចុប្បន្នធម្មតា (Present Simple)។ យើងប្រើវាដើម្បីនិយាយអំពី ទម្លាប់ និង ការពិត។
warning Common Mistake
In English, when we talk about ONE other person or thing (He, She, or It), we MUST add 's' or 'es' to the end of the verb. Say "He works" not "He work". This is one of the most common mistakes for Cambodian learners!

To stop sleeping and open your eyes. This is a routine action.

Example: I wake up early to buy fresh vegetables at the market.

Work
To do a job, especially for money. Notice the 's' in the example below!
ធ្វើការ - ធ្វើការងារដើម្បីទទួលបានប្រាក់កម្រៃ។
Example: Sophea works at a boutique hotel in town.
ឧទាហរណ៍៖ សុភាធ្វើការនៅសណ្ឋាគារប៊ូទិកក្នុងទីក្រុង។

Eat
To put food in your mouth, chew, and swallow it.
ញ៉ាំ / ហូប - ដាក់អាហារក្នុងមាត់ ទំពារ និងលេប។
Example: We eat rice with sour soup for lunch.
ឧទាហរណ៍៖ ពួកយើងញ៉ាំបាយជាមួយសម្លម្ជូរសម្រាប់អាហារថ្ងៃត្រង់។
Fact
Flow
To move steadily and continuously in a current (like a river).
ហូរ - ផ្លាស់ទីយ៉ាងលឿននិងបន្ត (ដូចជាទឹកទន្លេ)។
Example: The Mekong River flows through Cambodia.
ឧទាហរណ៍៖ ទន្លេមេគង្គហូរកាត់ប្រទេសកម្ពុជា។
Habit
Study
To spend time learning about a subject.
សិក្សា / រៀន - ចំណាយពេលរៀនអំពីមុខវិជ្ជាមួយ។
Example: The students study English every evening.
ឧទាហរណ៍៖ សិស្សានុសិស្សរៀនភាសាអង់គ្លេសរៀងរាល់ល្ងាច។
Fact
Open
To start business for the day. This is a scheduled fact.
បើក - ចាប់ផ្តើមអាជីវកម្មសម្រាប់ថ្ងៃថ្មី។
Example: The Central Market opens at 6:00 AM.
ឧទាហរណ៍៖ ផ្សារធំបើកនៅម៉ោង 6:00 ព្រឹក។
