What is Past Simple?
We use the Past Simple to talk about actions that started and finished in the past. (អតីតកាលធម្មតា)
Past (✅) ←──────── Now (❌) ────────→ Future
Regular Verbs
For most verbs, just add -ed.

| Watch | → | Watched | បានមើល |
Spelling Rules
1. Ends in 'e' → Add -d (Like -> Liked)
2. Consonant + 'y' → -ied (Study -> Studied)
3. CVC (Stop) → Double letter (Stopped)

Irregular Verbs
These verbs do not follow the -ed rule. You must memorize them.

Negatives & Questions
Use Did / Didn't + Base Verb.
| Did you go? | តើអ្នកបានទៅទេ? |
| I didn't see it. | មិនបានឃើញ |

Rule: "Did" steals the past tense.
I didn't go. (NOT didn't went)
