Forming Questions
In English, we cannot simply change our tone to ask a question. We must use a Helper Verb at the start!
Note: "Do/Does" here has no direct translation. It just signals a question. (តើ...មែនទេ?)
Using "Do" 👥
Do you like pizza?
Do we have time?
Do they speak English?
Do the students study hard?
Using "Does" 👤
Does he play football?
Does she work here?
Does it rain often?
Does John eat meat?
Does he eats? → Does he eat?
Wh- Questions 🔍
Where do you live?
What does she want?
When do they open?
Why does it cost so much?

Hi Vireak! Because "Does" has already done the job of showing it's for He/She/It! You only need one "s" per sentence. Think of "Does" as stealing the "s" from the main verb. 🦸♂️
Can I just say "You like coffee?" with a high tone at the end?
In very casual, spoken English, people do sometimes do that! But it is grammatically incorrect. If you are writing or speaking professionally, you MUST use "Do you like coffee?" ☕
Why do we drop the "s" when we use "Does"?
