Lesson Goal: Practice high-level listening by identifying missing words in a written summary of an audio lecture.
Listening for Missing Information
"Summary Completion" is a common task in advanced English exams (like IELTS or TOEFL) and university lectures. You will be given a paragraph with missing words, and you must listen to the audio to find the answers.
Pro Tip: Do not try to read and listen at the exact same time! Before you press play, quickly scan the sentences with the blank spaces. Try to guess what kind of word is missing (Is it a noun? A verb? A place?). When the audio begins, listen specifically for those ideas.
