Scanning "Terms of Service" agreements for specific rules.

Lesson Goal: Learn how to find your rights and responsibilities inside a long Terms of Service (ToS) document.

Scanning the "Fine Print"

Whenever you download an app or sign up for a website, you are presented with a long legal document. Most people just click "Agree" without reading.

For ESL learners, these documents are excellent for practicing scanning. You don't need to read every sentence. Instead, look for Numbered Clauses or Bold Keywords. If you want to know about your money, scan for refund. If you want to know how long the deal lasts, scan for terminate.

TERMS OF SERVICE Ver 2.4

CloudStorage Inc.

Effective Date: December 27, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms By accessing and using the Services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. Participation in this Service is restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

2. Billing & Subscription Services are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Payment is due on the 1st of each month. Failure to remit payment within seven (7) days of the due date will result in immediate suspension of account access.

3. Cancellation Policy Users may terminate this Agreement by providing a minimum of 30 days written notice via email to support@cloudstorage.com. No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of the current billing cycle.

4. Limitation of Liability In no event shall CloudStorage Inc. be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption, arising out of the use or inability to use the Service.

5. Privacy & Data Use Your privacy is important to us. We will not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We may use aggregated demographic information for statistical purposes.

6. Force Majeure We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations where such failure results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including, without limitation, mechanical, electronic or communications failure or degradation.
