Appreciating Masterpieces
When you visit an exhibition, the most important part of the experience is reading the placard (the small card next to the painting).
Art placards tell you the "story" behind the colors. To understand a piece, you use scanning to find keywords about the style. Is it an abstract work? Is it a peaceful landscape? By scanning for words like "passion," "tranquility," or "hidden," you can quickly understand the artist's message before even looking at the canvas.
