Navigating the Airport
Airports are incredibly busy places. When you are rushing to catch a flight, you do not have time to read every single word on your ticket or the giant digital screens. You need to use a skill called scanning.
Scanning means your eyes jump around looking for specific keywords or codes. For example, if you need to know where to sit on the plane, you don't read your name or the destination. Instead, your eyes should immediately search for words like Seat or Gate. Similarly, when looking at a Departure Screen, you should always scan for your specific Flight Number first, as city names can appear multiple times for different flights!
Go to the next tab to learn the travel vocabulary, then test your scanning skills on the tickets in the Practice tab!
