The Thesis Statement
The thesis statement is the roadmap for your essay. It tells the reader exactly what you will argue and why.
The Formula
Position: What is your opinion? (គោលជំហរ)
Reasons: Why do you think so? (មូលហេតុ)
Good vs. Bad
A thesis MUST be arguable!
"The capital of Cambodia is Phnom Penh."
"Phnom Penh is the best city for investment due to its rapid infrastructure growth."
Be Specific!
"Social media is bad for society."
"Social media negatively impacts teenagers by reducing sleep quality and increasing anxiety."

Should I start my thesis with "I think that..." or "In my opinion..."?
Good question, Mony. It is better to AVOID "I think" or "In my opinion". Just state your argument as a fact. Instead of saying "I think pollution is bad", just say "Pollution is bad". It sounds much more confident and academic! ✍️
