Great question! Electricity was discovered (because it already existed in nature, like in lightning). But the lightbulb was invented (because humans created it from scratch). boltlightbulb

They are very similar! Both mean highly advanced. "Cutting-edge" focuses more on being the newest, most innovative idea (maybe still in testing). "State-of-the-art" focuses on being the best equipment currently available on the market. smartphone

It is an uncountable noun (singular). So, you should say "AI is changing the world." smart_toy
