Lifelong Learner

True fluency isn't achieved in a classroom. It is built through consistent, autonomous daily habits.

A C1 learner does not just write "Word = Translation". You must record the ecosystem of the word.

mitigate
Collocations: mitigate the impact, mitigate the risk
Register: Formal / Academic
My Sentence: "I drink green tea to mitigate my stress after work."

"Passive Consumption"

The Trap:
Watching Netflix with subtitles and thinking you are "learning".
The Solution:
You must transition from Passive Recognition to Active Deployment. Force yourself to WRITE or SPEAK the words you hear.

Teacher, I understand big words when I read them in articles, but I go completely blank when I try to speak. How do I fix this?

This is the classic Passive vs. Active gap, Dara! To fix it, try the 'Lexical Journaling' method. Instead of just reading the word, write down 3 sentences about YOUR life using the new word. Then, literally talk to yourself in the mirror using those sentences. You have to train your mouth muscles, not just your eyes! record_voice_over psychology
