No, they are different! Skimming is reading fast to understand the main idea of the whole text. Scanning is looking fast for one specific detail, like a number or a name! search

Use your finger or a pen to guide your eyes down the page. Don't let yourself stop to read sentences. Only stop when you see the keyword! draw

That happens! Sometimes the text uses a synonym (a word with the same meaning). For example, if the question asks for "price", scan for the "$" symbol or words like "cost". Keep an open mind! lightbulb
