Hello Cambodian Learners!

When you get an invitation to a birthday party or look at a class schedule, you need to find important information quickly! You need to know WHO the party is for, WHEN it is (date and time), and WHERE it is. This skill is called scanning, and it's very useful for everyday English.

Scanning for Details

Remember, scanning is looking quickly for specific words or numbers. You don't need to read every word.

Look at this example invitation. Click the text to hear it.

Party Time!

You are invited to a party for Sokha!

Date: June 5th

Time: 3:00 PM

Place: My House, Riverside Road

If you need to find the name, you scan for a name like "Sokha."

If you need the date, you scan for something like "June 5th."
