Hi Setha! That is a great question. Scanning is looking for a SPECIFIC word (like your name or a phone number). Skimming is reading fast to get the MAIN IDEA of the story (to know what the story is about). We will learn Skimming next time! search

Hi Bopha! It prepares your brain! If you see a "List" shape, your brain knows "Ah, I don't need to read left-to-right, I just look down for facts." This makes reading much faster! bolt

Great question! A menu is a List. It has items arranged vertically, usually with a price next to them. You don't read a menu from start to finish like a story; you skip around to find what you want! restaurant
