What is Tone?

Tone is how the author feels about the subject. It is the emotion behind the words!

Yes! Think of it like this: Tone is the WRITER's voice. Mood is the READER's heart. If the writer sounds angry (tone), it might make you feel stressed or sad (mood). lightbulb

How do I know if an article is Informative or if the author is hiding their feelings?

Look for "adjectives" (words that describe things). If a text only has facts (numbers, dates, names) with no describing words like "terrible" or "beautiful," it is definitely informative! search
