✨ Lesson 19: Basic Prepositions of Place (in, on, under)

Today, we will learn some very important small words called Prepositions1 of Place2. These words tell us where something is.

They show the relationship3 between two things. Let's learn the first three: in, on, and under.

'in' (Inside 📥)

We use in when something is inside4 a container or an enclosed space.

  • The money is in my wallet.
  • The fish are in the Kampot river.
  • My family lives in a house.

'on' (On top of 🔝)

We use on when something is touching the surface5 of something else.

  • The book is on the table.
  • The boat is on the water.
  • I put black pepper on my food.

'under' (Below ⤵️)

We use under when something is below or beneath something else.

  • The cat is sleeping under the chair.
  • My shoes are under my bed.
  • The small crab is hiding under a rock.
