✨ Lesson 19: Basic Prepositions of Place (in, on, under)

Today, we will learn some very important small words called Prepositions¹ of Place². These words tell us where something is.

They show the relationship³ between two things. Let's learn the first three: in, on, and under.

'in' (Inside 📥)

We use in when something is inside⁴ a container or an enclosed space.

• The money is in my wallet.
• The fish are in the Kampot river.
• My family lives in a house.

'on' (On top of 🔝)

We use on when something is touching the surface⁵ of something else.

• The book is on the table.
• The boat is on the water.
• I put black pepper on my food.

'under' (Below ⤵️)

We use under when something is below or beneath something else.

• The cat is sleeping under the chair.
• My shoes are under my bed.
• The small crab is hiding under a rock.
