Module 6: Reading Fluency & Strategies

Module 6: Reading Fluency & Strategies Welcome to your reading fluency training. Recognizing letters is important, but true reading requires smooth physical eye movement and pausing at the correct intervals. Core Reading Strategies Covered: Physical Tracking: Using your finger or a pen to follow text from left to right, top to bottom. The Period (.): A full stop. You must pause completely and take a breath. The Comma (,): A short pause. Slow down, but do not stop reading the sentence. The Question Mark (?): A question. Your vocal tone should rise at the end of the sentence. Linguistic Trap: The Run-On Reader Many beginners try to read as fast as possible and ignore periods. Reading past a period without stopping destroys the meaning of the paragraph and confuses the listener.
