In English, these little words are called Articles, and they are incredibly important! They tell the listener if we are talking about any general thing, or one very specific thing. Let's look at the rules for "A", "An", and "The".

Many languages do not have words that directly translate to 'a', 'an', or 'the'. English learners often just say the noun (like "I see dog"). In English, remember that a singular, countable noun almost always needs an article in front of it!

Use "A" before words that start with a consonant sound (like T, G, B). It means "one general thing."
Example: I take a tuk-tuk to the market every morning.
