Lesson 3: Semantic Fields & Fine Lexical Distinctions
Semantic Fields & Fine Lexical Distinctions Welcome to C1 Advanced Vocabulary. I am Teacher Sopheak. Over my years in education and hospitality design, I have learned that advanced English is not just about knowing big words—it is about knowing the EXACT word. Vocabulary List: Aroma (Noun) - ក្លិនក្រអូប Odor (Noun) - ក្លិនមិនល្អ / ក្លិនស្អុយ Meticulous (Adjective) - ហ្មត់ចត់ / ល្អិតល្អន់ Fastidious (Adjective) - ពិបាកផ្គាប់ / រើសអើងខ្លាំង Common Mistake: Connotation Matters Words in the same semantic field often have different feelings. 'Aroma' is positive (good smell), while 'Odor' is negative (bad smell). Choosing the wrong one can completely change your meaning.
