Welcome! When my university students first transition from writing single sentences to full essays, they face two big challenges: organizing their thoughts into paragraphs, and spelling irregular English words.
Today, we'll learn how to build a strong paragraph sandwich, and how to spell words that don't follow the normal plural 's' rule.
warning Common Mistake
In many languages, words don't change spelling when there is more than one. In English, we usually add "s". But watch out for irregular words! Never write "childrens" or "foots". The correct plurals are just "children" and "feet".

Children

Example Topic Sentence: Siem Reap is the most interesting province in Cambodia.

Supporting Details
The middle sentences. They provide facts, examples, or reasons to prove the Topic Sentence.
Example Details: It is home to Angkor Wat. It also has a vibrant night market.

Concluding Sentence
The final sentence. It summarizes the paragraph and closes the thought.
Example Conclusion: Because of its history and culture, everyone should visit Siem Reap.
