Lesson 2: Food, Drinks & Dining Out
Food, Drinks & Dining Out Welcome back! I am Teacher Sopheak. Today we are looking at essential words for ordering food and drinks. Common Mistake: "Eat Rice" vs "Have a Meal" In Khmer, saying "nham bai" means to eat a meal. In English, if you ask "Did you eat rice?", people think you are asking specifically about the white grain. Instead, say "Did you eat?" or "Have you had lunch?".
