Lesson Goal: Practice listening to academic interviews and debates to identify arguments and scientific vocabulary.
Listening for Arguments
When listening to a debate or a scientific interview, the speakers will often use advanced vocabulary. Don't panic if you don't know every word!
Your goal is to listen for the main arguments. Pay attention to questions that ask "Why?" and listen carefully to the answer. Speakers will often use signal words like "Because", "But", or "Eventually" to explain their reasons or outline a timeline.
Go to the next tab to learn the B2 scientific vocabulary, then listen to the interview between the Host and the Astronomer in the Practice tab!
