Technical Manual

> MODULE 43 // SCANNING FOR SPECIFICS

Lesson Goal: Learn how to read device manuals to find safe operating limits, interpret blinking lights, and fix common problems.

Finding What You Need

When you buy a new device, it comes with a thick instruction manual. Nobody reads the whole manual! Instead, we use scanning to find the exact information we need to solve a problem.

If your device stops working, scan the page for bold headings like Troubleshooting. If there is a flashing light, scan for charts labeled LED Indicators. If you are worried about breaking it, scan for a box with a warning triangle to read the safety hazards.

Go to the next tab to review technical vocabulary, then practice scanning the Router Spec Sheet in the Practice tab!
