Talking about Movies
Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen for opinions, genres, and specific movie details in a casual conversation.
Talking about movies is one of the most common ways to make friends and practice English! When people discuss a movie, they usually want to know two things: "What kind of movie is it?" and "Is it good?"
When listening to a conversation about a film, listen for the Genre (like Action, Comedy, or Sci-Fi) and the speaker's Opinion on the Plot (the story) or the Special Effects. But be careful—if you haven't seen the movie yet, always ask them to give "No Spoilers!" so they don't ruin the ending for you.
Go to the next tab to learn the movie vocabulary, then listen to Tom and Lisa's conversation in the Practice tab!
