How are you?
Talking about feelings and daily moods.
Listening for Feelings
When people ask "How are you?", they are checking in on your feelings or health. You do not need to understand every word they say to reply well. Instead, you should listen for adjectives.
Listen closely for words that describe feelings, like well, tired, or sick. If someone says they feel bad or tired, it is important to listen for the reason why (for example, "I worked late"). It is polite to respond with sympathy, such as "I hope you feel better."
