Lesson 11: Kinship Network (Family Tree)

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Reading Lab
Relationships
Lesson Goal: Learn how to describe relationships across multiple generations and interpret family diagrams.

The Wilson Family

My name is David. I come from a fairly large family that spans three generations. My parents are John and Mary. They have been married for 30 years and are wonderful spouses to each other. I have one sibling, my sister named Sarah.

My father John has a brother named Tom, who is my uncle. Tom is married to Lisa, and they have a daughter named Emily. That makes Emily my cousin. We are all very close and try to gather at my grandparents' house every Christmas. My grandparents, Arthur and Betty, love having the whole family together under one roof.
