Checking the Forecast
Before you step outside or plan a weekend trip, you probably check a weather app. But you don't read every single word on the screen. Instead, you scan the page to find the most important data for your day.
Your eyes quickly look for numbers like the current temperature or the wind speed. You look at symbols like a bright sun or a dark rain cloud to understand the forecast without having to read a long paragraph. You might check the humidity if it feels sticky outside, or scan for the highest chance of precipitation so you know whether to carry an umbrella.
You also need to scan for safety. If there is a severe thunderstorm approaching, your phone might display a red or orange banner. This warning is designed to catch your eye instantly so you can stay safe.
