These are the 4 main building blocks for your first paragraph.
Building Your Paragraph: Step-by-Step
Let's look at each sentence one by one. Listen and repeat.
Step 1: Say Your Name
Start with My name is... or I am.... Remember to use a capital letter for your name.
Example: "My name is Dara."
Step 2: Say Where You Are From
Use I am from.... Remember to use a capital letter for your country or city.
Example: "I am from Cambodia."
Step 3: Say Your Job
Use I am a... or I am an.... Use "an" if the job starts with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u).
Example 1: "I am a student."
Example 2: "I am an engineer."
Step 4: Say Something You Like
Use I like... followed by a noun (thing).
Example: "I like football."
