The 5 Parts of a Postcard

A postcard is a short, friendly message. It has five simple parts. Look at the example below.

1. Greeting (ការ​ស្វាគមន៍)

Dear Sreypov,

2. Message (សារ)

I am in Siem Reap. It is beautiful! The weather is hot and sunny.

3. Closing (ការ​បិទ)

See you soon,

4. Signature (ហត្ថលេខា)

Write Your Own Postcard

Get a piece of paper. Imagine you are on holiday in a new city (like Sihanoukville or Mondulkiri).

1. Draw a line down the middle of your paper.
2. On the left side, write a short postcard message (3-4 sentences) to a friend or family member.
3. Use the 5 steps: Greeting, Message, Closing, and Signature.
4. On the right side, practice writing a (fake) address for your friend.

Dear Sam,
I am in Kampot. The weather is cool. The food is delicious!
