Anatomy of a Word

1. completely necessary; extremely important in a particular situation.
"Water is essential for living things."
IPA Shows you exactly how to pronounce it.
POS Part of Speech (n., v., adj., adv.) tells you how to use it.

The definition tells you what a word means. The Example Sentences teach you how to actually speak.

*Notice the preposition! The example teaches us we say "essential for", not "essential to". You can't learn that from a Khmer translation!

Hi Piseth! I know it is hard at first. Start by using a "Learner's Dictionary" (like Cambridge or Oxford Learner's). They use simple B1-level words to explain difficult words. If you don't understand the definition, just read the Example Sentences! menu_book
