Yes, exactly! Anki is famous for its Spaced Repetition System (SRS). It automatically calculates the "intervals" for you based on how hard or easy it was for you to "retrieve" the word. smartphonebar_chart

Because you probably "crammed" (studied everything in one night)! Cramming puts a high "cognitive load" on your brain but doesn't "consolidate" the memory. Memory "decay" happens very quickly if you don't use spaced intervals. trending_down

Not usually! Reading is mostly "passive exposure". The words are giving you a "prompt", so your brain doesn't have to work hard to retrieve the meaning from scratch. It is great for context, but you still need to test yourself actively! menu_bookbolt
