The Double Past

អតីតកាលបរិបូរណ៍ (Past Perfect Simple)

We use the Past Perfect when we are talking about the past, and we want to refer to an action that happened EVEN EARLIER.

យើងប្រើ Past Perfect ដើម្បីបញ្ជាក់ពីសកម្មភាពមួយដែលបានកើតឡើង និងបញ្ចប់មុនសកម្មភាពមួយទៀតក្នុងអតីតកាល។ វាប្រៀបដូចជា "អតីតកាលនៃអតីតកាល"។

"Had" is used for ALL subjects! (I, You, We, They, He, She, It)

We often use time words between 'had' and the 'V3' to make the timeline clearer.

(Incorrect. There is no second action.)

I ate pizza yesterday. ✔️

(Correct! Just use regular Past Simple.)
