Simple Passive

ល្បះកម្ម (Present Simple)

Focus on the ACTION or the OBJECT, not the person doing it!

យើងប្រើ Passive Voice នៅពេលដែលយើងចង់ផ្តោតទៅលើ "សកម្មភាព" ឬ "កម្មបទ(រងអំពើ)" ជាជាងផ្តោតទៅលើអ្នកធ្វើសកម្មភាពនោះ។

Object + am / is / are + Verb 3 (Past Participle) (by Person)

The cars are washed every day. ឡានទាំងនោះត្រូវបានលាងជារៀងរាល់ថ្ងៃ។

ការបំប្លែងពី Active ទៅ Passive

Active: Mary makes the cake. ម៉ារីធ្វើនំនេះ។ (ម៉ារីជាអ្នកធ្វើ)

Passive: The cake is made by Mary. នំនេះត្រូវបានធ្វើដោយម៉ារី។ (នំជារបស់រងអំពើ)

When to use it?

1. Don't know who did it: My phone is stolen. ទូរស័ព្ទរបស់ខ្ញុំត្រូវបានគេលួច។ (អត់ដឹងថាអ្នកណាលួច)

2. Action is more important: English is spoken here. ភាសាអង់គ្លេសត្រូវបានគេនិយាយនៅទីនេះ។ (មិនខ្វល់ថាអ្នកណានិយាយទេ សំខាន់គឺភាសានោះ)

No, Nita! If it's not important who did the action, or if we don't know who did it, we can drop "by". For example: "The classroom is cleaned." We don't need to say "by the cleaner" because it's obvious! 🧹✨
