Because "The sun" is singular (it is just one thing). Remember, in the Present Simple, "He, she, it" always takes an 's' or 'es' on the verb! ☀️
Are these sentences only for science?
No! It works for any fact. "Spiders have eight legs" or "Cambodia is in Asia" are also general facts using the Present Simple. 🕷️
