A1 Writing Review
Activity: Building Simple Stories
What is a Story?
A story is a description of people and events. A simple story needs three parts to be complete. Let's look at them.
This is the setting. It tells us WHO is in the story and WHERE/WHEN it happens.
This is the action. It tells us WHAT happens and what the characters do.
This is the conclusion. It tells us how the story finishes and how a character feels.
Example Story
Read this short story about a tourist in Kampot. Can you see the three parts?
(Beginning) Yesterday was a sunny day. A tourist named Maria was at the riverside in Kampot. (Middle) She rented a bicycle and rode to a small cafe. She bought a coffee and a croissant. (End) The coffee was delicious. Maria was very happy.
