school The Verb "To Be"
កិរិយាសព្ទ "To Be" (am, is, are)
I am... (I'm)
Used only with "I".
ខ្ញុំ គឺជា / នៅ... (I am a student.)
He/She/It is...
Used for singular subjects.
គាត់/នាង/វា គឺជា... (She is happy.)
You/We/They are...
Used for plural subjects & "You".
អ្នក/ពួកយើង/ពួកគេ គឺជា... (They are here.)

Use the base verb.
ខ្ញុំ/អ្នក/ពួកយើង/ពួកគេ ធ្វើការ។ (I work every day.)
He / She / It works
Add "s" or "es" for he/she/it.
គាត់/នាង/វា ធ្វើការ។ (He works in a bank.)
Questions: Do/Does
Use Do/Does to ask questions.
សំនួរ: (Do you work? / Does she work?)

She is doing it right now.
នាងកំពុងសិក្សា។ (She is studying English.)

Regular: Add -ed
For most verbs, just add -ed.
កិរិយាសព្ទធម្មតា: (I played football yesterday.)
Irregular Verbs
Must be memorized (go -> went).
កិរិយាសព្ទមិនទៀងទាត់: (She went to the market.)
Questions/Negative: Did / Didn't
Use 'did' and base verb.
សំនួរ/បដិសេធ: (Did you go? / I didn't go.)

The best way is practice and repetition! Group them by patterns. For example: sing-sang, ring-rang OR buy-bought, think-thought. Make sentences using them about your own life! 📝

When should I use 'The' instead of 'A'?

Use 'A' when talking about any general thing ("I want a pen"). Use 'The' when you and the listener both know EXACTLY which one you mean ("Pass me the pen on the desk"). 🖊️
I am always confused between Present Simple and Present Continuous. Can you help?
