Hi Sovan! "Shut up" is ONLY used as slang for surprise with very close friends (like saying "No way!"). It is NEVER polite to use it to actually stop someone from talking! Use "Hold that thought" instead. front_hand
What if they don't stop talking when I say 'Sorry to interrupt'?
Use body language! Raise your hand slightly, make eye contact, and speak a bit louder. Sometimes you have to be confident and clearly say, "Could I just jump in here for a second?" pan_tool
Can I say 'Let me think' in a job interview?
Yes! It shows you are thoughtful. It is much better than staying completely silent or saying "Ummmm" for a long time. Just don't take too long! timer
Teacher, is 'Shut up' ever okay to use?
