Pointing Words

We use these words to point at things. It depends on how near or far they are!

The "Is/Are" Trap!

Match the verb with the pointing word!

(ប្រយ័ត្ន! "This/That" ត្រូវប្រើជាមួយ "is"។ "These/Those" ត្រូវប្រើជាមួយ "are"។ កុំប្រើច្រឡំគ្នា!)

Pronunciation Trap!

"This" and "These" sound different!

Yes, you can! We often use "that" to ask about people who are far away, or when we hear someone but can't see them (e.g., "Is that you, John?"). Good question! 👥

Why do we say "this morning" but not "that morning" for today?

We use "this" for things that are close in *time*, not just distance! "This morning" is close to now (today). We use "that morning" to talk about a day far in the past. ⏳
