Good readers don't just read words. They play a guessing game with the text!

1. Before Reading: Predict! visibility

Look at the Title and Pictures.
Ask: "What is this going to be about?"
Ask: "What do I already know about this?"
fact_check

2. While Reading: Check! fact_check

Stop after each paragraph.
Ask: "Was my guess right?"
Ask: "Does this make sense?"
refresh

3. Stop and Fix! refresh

If you don't understand, STOP.
Re-read the sentence.
Look for clues in the words around it.
error The Zombie Reader Trap!

Do not just look at words without thinking!

That's perfectly normal, Sovan! The goal isn't to be 100% right. The goal is to keep your brain active. If you guess wrong, your brain says "Oh, wait! Let me adjust!" That means you are learning! psychology

You fell into the "Zombie Reader" trap, Visal! Your eyes were looking at the words, but your brain wasn't checking meaning. Next time, force yourself to stop after EVERY paragraph and summarize it. front_hand

At first, yes. But it makes you understand MORE, which saves time later because you won't have to read the whole text twice! 🚀
