Hello Cambodian Learners!

Before you start reading a story or an article, you can often make a good guess about what it will be about. This is called predicting. Looking at pictures and reading the title are great ways to predict! For example, if you see a picture of Angkor Wat and the title says "My Trip to the Temples," you can predict the text will be about visiting Angkor Wat. This helps your brain get ready to understand the text.

How to Predict Content

1. Look at the Picture(s): What do you see in the picture? Who is in it? What are they doing? Where are they?

2. Read the Title: What words are in the title? Do they give you a clue about the topic?

3. Make a Guess: Based on the picture and title, what do you think the text will be about?

Example:

Family Picnic

A Fun Day at the Park

Based on the picture and title, what do you think this text will be about?

The picture shows a family picnic, and the title says "A Fun Day at the Park." So, B is a good prediction.
