How do I know if an author is being sarcastic or if they are just wrong?

Excellent question, Sovan. Look for extreme exaggerations (hyperbole) or statements that directly contradict the facts presented earlier in the text. Sarcasm usually relies on the reader being "in on the joke." theater_comedy

What is the exact difference between nuance and subtext?

Nuance is a slight, subtle difference in meaning (like the difference between "happy" and "thrilled"). Subtext is the underlying meaning that is not spoken aloud at all. It requires reading between the lines. visibility_off

Are all logical fallacies easy to spot?

No! Some are very tricky, like the "Straw Man" (attacking an argument the other person didn't actually make) or "Ad Hominem" (attacking the person instead of the argument). That is why C2 analysis requires careful attention to the text structure. gavel
