2. Grammar: Comparative Adjectives (Shopping)
When we compare the prices or quality of two things, we use comparative adjectives. We add -er to short words. We add more before long words. The word "good" is irregular; it changes to better. The tourist touches the red scarf. "The red one is better than the blue one. It feels very soft. Is there a discount?" she asks.
Sophea smiles. "Yes, I can give you a discount. The new price is twelve dollars." The tourist is happy. "That is cheap! I will pay with cash," she says. Sophea gives her the scarf, her change, and a receipt.
