Module 2: Supporting Details & Conclusions

Module 2: Supporting Details & Conclusions Welcome to your B1 writing framework. A paragraph is like a bridge; the topic sentence is the foundation, but the supporting details are the pillars holding it up. Without them, your writing collapses. Core Writing Frameworks: Supporting Details: Using facts, reasons, and specific examples to prove your main idea. Transitional Phrases: Using connectors like 'For example,' 'First,' and 'Furthermore.' The Concluding Sentence: Wrapping up the paragraph by restating the core idea or offering a final summarizing thought. Syntactic Trap: The "New Information" Trap A frequent error is introducing a brand new topic in the concluding sentence. A conclusion must only summarize or reflect on what has already been discussed. Never start a new argument at the end of a paragraph.
