The Grammar Lab: Defining vs. Non-Defining Clauses

The Grammar Lab: Because

Lesson 05: Giving Reasons
Reason & Result

We use because to connect a result to its reason. It answers the question "Why?".

🔹 Reason: Why something happens. (មូលហេតុ)
🔹 Result: What happens. (លទ្ធផល)
In the Middle Result + Because
When "because" is in the middle of the sentence, DO NOT use a comma.
I am smiling because I passed the test.
He is tired because he ran fast.
At the Beginning Because + Reason
When "because" starts the sentence, you MUST use a comma after the reason.
Because it is raining, we will stay home.
Because she was late, she missed the bus.
Because vs. So ⚠️ Warning
Because gives the reason. So gives the result. Do not mix them up!
I was sick, because I stayed home. Wrong ❌
I was sick, so I stayed home. Correct ✅
